Common Problems

Common garage door problems we repair.

Garage doors are heavy and under a lot of tension. If your door is doing any of these, stop using it and give us a call.

Door Won't Open

A broken spring, snapped cable, opener problem, or locked door can all keep it shut. The cause determines the repair.

Door Won't Close or Reverses

Misaligned safety sensors, a track obstruction, or opener settings can cause a door to stop or reverse.

Off Track or Crooked

A door hanging unevenly can mean a broken cable, damaged roller, or bent track. Don't keep running it.

Broken or Frayed Cables

Lift cables work with the springs to raise the door. A frayed or snapped cable needs to be replaced before the door is used.

Loud, Grinding, or Jerky Movement

Worn rollers, dry hinges, or loose hardware can make a door noisy and rough.

Damaged Panels or Weather Seal

Dents, cracked sections, and worn bottom seals can let in water, pests, and cold air.

What to Expect

We fix what's broken.

Many garage door problems come down to one or two worn or broken parts. We inspect the springs, cables, rollers, hinges, tracks, and opener, explain what's wrong, and give you the price before we start.

Springs, cables, and openers are our most common calls. We work on residential garage doors only.

The Visit

How a garage door repair visit works.

  • We look at the whole door — springs, cables, drums, rollers, hinges, tracks, and opener.
  • We find the cause, not just the symptom. A door that's off track usually has a reason.
  • We explain what's wrong and give you the price before any work begins.
  • After the repair, we check the door's balance and test the opener's auto-reverse.

Cost

What affects the cost of a garage door repair.

You'll know the price before any work begins.

Which parts are damaged

A single roller or sensor adjustment is a smaller job than cables, tracks, and an off-track door together.

Door size and weight

Larger, heavier doors need heavier-duty parts.

Parts availability

Common parts are often on the truck; some have to be ordered.

Regular vs. after-hours

Calls outside regular hours are priced differently. We'll tell you before we come out.

A service-call charge applies to the visit and is credited toward the repair if you go ahead with it. After-hours calls are priced differently. Call 765-863-3333 for current pricing.

Common Questions

Straightforward answers.

Have a question that isn't listed here? Call765-863-3333and we'll be glad to help.

Do you repair commercial garage doors?

Not at this time. Little Dillo currently services residential garage doors only.

Can you fix it the same day?

Same-day service is often available, but it isn't guaranteed. Special-order parts can delay a repair.

Should I repair or replace my garage door?

Most problems — springs, cables, rollers, and openers — can be repaired. Replacement usually only makes sense for severely damaged panels or a door at the end of its life. If it does, estimates for new doors are free.

Can I keep using my door if it's off track?

No. An off-track door can fall or cause more damage. Stop using it, keep people and cars clear, and call us.

Do you offer emergency garage door repair?

Yes. Emergency service is available 24/7.

Is your work warrantied?

Yes. Our labor carries a 1-year warranty, and parts carry the manufacturer's or supplier's warranty.
