Furnace Repair · Kokomo, IN
No heat on a cold Indiana night is more than an inconvenience. We repair gas and electric furnaces of all makes and models. We find the cause, explain it in plain language, and give you the price before any repair begins.
Common Problems
Most heating problems give a warning before they leave you without heat. Call if you notice any of these.
The furnace won't start, or the blower runs but the air isn't warm. Common causes include ignition, flame sensor, and control problems.
A furnace that starts and then shuts down before the house warms up is often tripping a safety control. The cause needs to be found, not just reset.
Clicking without lighting, or a burner that lights and goes out, can point to the igniter, flame sensor, gas valve, or venting.
Low airflow can come from a dirty filter, blower motor problems, or restricted ductwork, and it makes the furnace work harder.
Squealing, banging, or a burning smell beyond the normal first-run dust smell should be checked.
Turning on and off in short bursts wastes energy and wears parts. It can come from overheating, a sensor problem, or a thermostat issue.
What to Expect
A furnace has several safety controls that shut it down when something isn't right. Replacing parts until it runs is expensive guesswork. We test the system to find out why it stopped, then explain the repair and its price.
If the furnace is unsafe to run — for example, a venting problem or a damaged heat exchanger — we'll tell you plainly and explain your options.

Get everyone out of the house right away. Don't flip light switches, use appliances, or light anything. Once you're outside and away from the smell, call 911 and your gas utility. Call us after the utility says it's safe.

We repair all makes and models. Parts availability varies by brand and age, and we'll tell you if a part has to be ordered.
The Visit
Every visit is different, but this is the usual order we work in.
Cost
We give you the price before any work begins. These are the things that change it.
A flame sensor cleaning or igniter is a smaller job than a blower motor, inducer, or control board.
Some parts are universal; others are brand-specific or harder to get for older furnaces.
Furnaces in tight closets, crawlspaces, or attics can take longer to work on.
Calls outside regular hours are priced differently. We'll tell you before we come out.
A service-call charge applies to the visit and is credited toward the repair if you go ahead with it. After-hours calls are priced differently. Call 765-863-3333 for current pricing.
Repair or Replace
Most furnace problems are repairable. We repair first when it's practical and recommend replacement only when it makes sense.
A single failed part on a furnace that's otherwise in good shape — igniters, sensors, capacitors, switches, and many motors.
A major repair on an older furnace, or a furnace that's needed several repairs in a short time. We'll quote the repair so you can compare it with a new system.
A cracked heat exchanger or other safety problem that isn't practical to fix. Estimates for a new furnace are free.

That's often a safety control doing its job — for example, a dirty flame sensor, overheating from restricted airflow, or a venting problem. We find the underlying cause instead of just resetting it.
