Little Dillo is a locally operated business, not a large call center. You'll work directly with the person responsible for your service, with an emphasis on clear communication and accountability.
An equipment failure doesn't automatically mean you need a new system. We investigate repair options and explain when keeping your existing equipment makes sense and when replacement deserves consideration.
You'll know the cost before any repair begins. If additional troubleshooting or repairs are recommended, we'll discuss the price before proceeding with that work. Estimates for new equipment are free.
HVAC troubleshooting can involve electrical measurements, temperature readings, airflow checks, and equipment inspection. We use relevant diagnostic information to guide recommendations instead of guessing which part should be replaced.

WHAT TO EXPECT DURING SERVICE
A proper diagnosis is more than identifying which part isn't working. The goal is to understand why the system isn't operating correctly and determine the appropriate next step.
We choose diagnostic checks based on your equipment, the symptoms, and what we observe during the visit.
Schedule an HVAC DiagnosticWe begin by learning what your system is doing, when the problem started, and whether similar issues have happened before.
Depending on the issue, we examine relevant system components, equipment condition, filters, airflow paths, and visible signs of trouble.
Appropriate checks may include electrical measurements, control operation, temperature readings, airflow, and refrigerant-system performance.
We review what the diagnostic checks indicate, explain available options, and discuss the cost of recommended work before you approve repairs.
When authorized repairs are completed, we perform appropriate operating checks to evaluate whether the original problem has been resolved.

MEET LITTLE DILLO
I'm Tyler, owner of Little Dillo Service Co in Kokomo, Indiana.
I believe homeowners should understand their heating and cooling options before committing to expensive repairs or replacement equipment.
Our approach is to diagnose the problem, explain what we find, and recommend work that makes sense for your situation.
REPAIR FIRST. REPLACE WHEN IT MAKES SENSE.
A broken air conditioner or furnace doesn't automatically mean you need new equipment. We believe that decision should come after understanding the problem, repair cost, and condition of your existing system.
Repairing your existing equipment can be a practical choice when the problem is identifiable, the system is in reasonable condition, and the repair cost is justified.
A system's age alone doesn't determine whether it should be replaced.
Replacement deserves consideration when the system has major defects, repeated failures, or repair costs that are difficult to justify compared with new equipment.
We explain why replacement may be worth considering rather than assuming it's necessary.
Our role is to diagnose the problem, explain the available options, and provide the information you need to make a decision. We won't assume you need a replacement simply because your equipment is older.
HOW WE APPROACH HVAC PROBLEMS
A heating or cooling system can stop working for a lot of reasons. Sometimes the solution is relatively straightforward. Other times, the problem requires deeper troubleshooting.
Here are three examples of how we approach common HVAC problems before recommending a repair or replacement.
The outdoor unit is running. Air is coming through the vents. But the house keeps getting warmer, and lowering the thermostat isn't helping.
Before assuming the system is low on refrigerant or needs replacement, we'd evaluate airflow, the indoor and outdoor coils, electrical operation, and relevant system performance measurements.
A restricted filter, electrical failure, refrigerant leak, or other fault can produce similar symptoms. Finding the actual cause helps avoid unnecessary repairs and repeat problems.
The thermostat calls for heat. The furnace begins its startup sequence, but the burners fail to stay on or the equipment shuts down before the house reaches the set temperature.
Depending on the symptoms and equipment, we'd investigate ignition components, flame sensing, airflow, safety controls, and the furnace's sequence of operation.
Replacing a component without confirming the failure can leave the underlying problem unresolved. Furnace safety concerns must also be addressed before the equipment is returned to service.
A homeowner notices ice on the refrigerant line or indoor coil, along with weak airflow and reduced cooling.
After the system is safely thawed, we'd assess airflow, coil condition, blower operation, and refrigerant-system performance to determine why freezing occurred.
A frozen air conditioner isn't automatically low on refrigerant. Adding refrigerant without confirming the actual fault could create additional problems rather than solve the original one.
THE LITTLE DILLO APPROACH
It's to help you understand what's wrong with the one you have. Sometimes that means a relatively minor repair. Sometimes it means addressing a serious equipment failure. And sometimes replacement really is the more practical investment.
We'll explain what we find, what your options are, and what the recommended work will cost so you can make an informed decision.
